ITINERARY

Here is a day-by-day description of the tour:

Day 1 – Antananarivo, first encounter with Madagascar
Upon arrival, meet your tour leader at the hotel in the afternoon. You’ll then have some free time to relax or explore the city at your own pace. Take a leisurely stroll through the capital, where colonial architecture, lively markets, and the aromatic blend of spices will give you a taste of the vibrant local culture. The adventure is only just beginning.

Day 2 – Towards the jungle of Andasibe
This day we leave the capital behind and head east through green landscapes, picturesque villages, and tropical plantations. In Andasibe, we are welcomed by the tropical forest, where, as evening falls, we take a night tour to spot colorful chameleons and the first active lemurs in the dark.

Day 3 – Andasibe, meeting the lemurs
We dedicate the entire day to exploring the park. In the Analamazaotra Reserve, we will hear the powerful call of the indri-indri, the world’s largest lemur, and at the private Vakona Reserve, we will get close to Lemur Island, where these playful creatures often come very close to visitors.

Day 4 – Journey to Antsirabe
We cross fertile fields and villages where local artisans create objects from wood and recycled aluminum. We arrive in Antsirabe, a colonial-style city famous for its hot springs and artisan workshops, where the colors of semi-precious stones blend with the stories of the craftsmen.

Day 5 – From the heart of the island to Miandrivazo
We continue our journey through the highlands of Madagascar, among green hills and traditional villages. We stop for photos and to enjoy the rural atmosphere, before arriving in Miandrivazo, the gateway to the western part of the island and the Tsiribihina River.

Day 6 – In search of predators
We head towards the arid west, where the dry forest of Kirindy is home to unique species. In the evening, we embark on a night walk to observe the fossa – Madagascar’s emblematic predator – alongside nocturnal lemurs and bizarre insects.

Day 7 – From forest to ocean, sunset at the Avenue of the Baobabs
Early in the morning, we take a walk through Kirindy to observe the morning wildlife, then head to Morondava on the shores of the Indian Ocean. At sunset, we reach the most photographed place in Madagascar: the Avenue of the Baobabs, where the giant trees dramatically silhouette against the orange sky.

Day 8 – Back to the heart of the island, Antsirabe
We cross the island’s long roads once again, returning to the center of Madagascar. The rural landscapes, with rice fields and traditional villages, set the rhythm for a day of travel through a country where life moves at its own unique pace.

Day 9 – From Antsirabe to the jungle of Ranomafana
We continue south, traveling along winding roads and through colorful villages, until we reach the lush forest of Ranomafana. Here, we are greeted by tropical humidity and the song of birds hidden in the dense foliage.

Day 10 – Ranomafana, the treasure of biodiversity
We spend the day exploring this park, famous for its biodiversity. We hike through the dense forest, home to rare lemurs, endemic birds, and spectacular butterflies. Besides the fauna, we discover hidden waterfalls and hot springs that gave the place its name.

Day 11 – Return to Antananarivo
We head back to the capital, leaving behind the jungle, baobabs, and traditional villages. In the evening, we have free time for last-minute shopping and to mentally relive the adventure on the red island.

Day 12 – City Tour in Antananarivo and Departure
On the final day, we explore the capital, starting with the Rova, the former royal palace, and continue along Independence Avenue, stopping at the vibrant craft market where sculptures, textiles, and semi-precious stone jewelry tell the island's rich story. While the adventure comes to a close today, you’ll have some free time to explore the city at your own pace or pick up souvenirs before your departure.
