There is an authentic, less-touristy France, where locals spend their summer vacations: Bordeaux and the Atlantic coasts, wild Brittany, and legendary Normandy. The reason is simple: here, you’ll find both famous wines, medieval villages, and fortified towns, as well as endless beaches battered by the ocean’s waves.
The June 2026 group tour, a road trip through West France, will offer a unique travel experience, far from the crowds of the French Riviera or Paris, exploring regions that still preserve their distinctive French charm.
We will explore Bordeaux and the vineyards of Saint-Émilion, climb the Dune du Pilat – the largest sand dune in Europe, visit the lighthouses of Cap Ferret and the chic islands near La Rochelle, discover Brittany with its dramatic landscapes, and step into Saint-Malo, Cancale, and Mont Saint-Michel – the medieval symbol of France.
Join this group journey – it will be full of charm!

ITINERARY
Here is a day-by-day description of the tour:
Day 1 – Bordeaux
The meeting with the group leader will take place in the evening at the hotel. Being in the heart of the wine capital, we’ll be tempted by our first French dinner, naturally accompanied by a glass of red wine from the region. Then, we’ll take a short evening walk through Place de la Bourse, where the buildings beautifully reflect in the famous "water mirror."
Day 2 – Bordeaux
The day will be dedicated to the senses and cultural discovery. At Cité du Vin, we’ll embark on an interactive experience where the tradition of wine blends with modern technology – from virtual tastings to stories about famous vineyards. The Saint-Pierre district will charm us with its cobbled streets, quaint windows, and cozy cafés. In the afternoon, we’ll relax among the lakes and flowers at Jardin Public, a true urban oasis.
Day 3 – Bordeaux – Arcachon
We’ll head towards the Atlantic on a spectacular self-drive route through rural landscapes and picturesque villages. First stop: Dune du Pilat, the tallest sand dune in Europe. We’ll climb to the top and gaze at the impressive panorama where forest and ocean meet. In the evening, we’ll settle in Arcachon, an elegant resort with a Belle Époque vibe, where we’ll enjoy fresh seafood for dinner.
Day 4 – Arcachon
A day for maritime relaxation and discovery. We’ll embark on a cruise around Bassin d’Arcachon, passing picturesque fishing villages and colorful huts where oysters are grown and sold directly from the producer. We’ll taste these oysters, savoring the authentic taste of the ocean, then stroll along the promenade and enjoy some leisure time on the wide beaches, admiring the waves in the sea breeze.
Day 5 – Cap Ferret Excursion
We’ll explore the peninsula beloved by the bohemian French. The lighthouse at Cap Ferret offers stunning views, and the wild beaches are perfect for photography. The hidden small coves will make us truly feel the spirit of the place.
Day 6 – Arcachon – La Rochelle
The coastal route will offer us new breathtaking views of the Atlantic waves. Arriving at La Rochelle, we’ll discover the medieval port with Gothic towers guarding the city’s entrance. A walk along the quays and relaxation at the Les Minimes beach will be a well-deserved reward after the long journey.
Day 7 – Île de Ré
The spectacular bridge will carry us to Île de Ré, where white houses and fish markets will delight our eyes. We’ll rent bikes to explore the salt fields, sand dunes, and wide beaches, and the chic atmosphere of the island will make us feel the relaxed rhythm of French life.
Day 8 – La Rochelle – Quimper
The journey towards Brittany will take us through authentic villages with stone houses and thatched roofs, lively markets, and landscapes that seem to have come out of a painting. We’ll finally reach Pointe du Raz, a dramatic cliff where waves crash powerfully against the rocks, creating a fascinating image.
Day 9 – Brittany
The port of Douarnenez will introduce us to the region’s fishing traditions, while Locronan, with its cobbled streets and medieval granite buildings, will take us back in time. We’ll have free time to discover the wild beaches, perfect for photographs and moments of tranquility.
Day 10 – Quimper – Saint-Malo
On our way north, we’ll stop along the coast, admiring coves and fishing villages. The impressive Saint-Malo will greet us with its medieval walls and wide beaches. We’ll wander through the old town, imagining the lives of the corsairs from the city’s “golden age.”
Day 11 – Cancale & Mont Saint-Michel
In the morning, we’ll explore Cancale, a port renowned for its oysters and intimate coves. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at Mont Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which will leave us speechless: the Gothic abbey rises majestically on the isolated rock, surrounded by the sea.
Day 12 – Saint-Malo – Bordeaux & Departure
The last day will be dedicated to the return journey to Bordeaux. However, we’ll make a special stop that will deserve all our attention: the famous Loire Valley, where we’ll visit one of the two emblematic castles, Amboise or Chenonceau. Time will fly as we’re surrounded by the beauty of the region, but we’ll need to continue our journey, as the evening will mark the time for us to say our goodbyes. You’ll have some free time to explore Bordeaux at your leisure, and you’ll have the flexibility to depart from the city at any time.
