Imagine watching the sunrise from the summit of Japan’s sacred mountain? Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! This July 2026 journey through Japan will be far from ordinary. It is a tour of contrasts — between the futuristic buzz of Tokyo and the silent majesty of Mount Fuji, between the raw power of the Japanese Alps and the delicate serenity of Kyoto’s temples.
We will explore Japan step by step, like true explorers of diversity: from volcanic trails, rafting, and national parks to historic cities, zen gardens, high-speed trains, and traditional hot springs. Join us as we discover the art of Japanese balance, where nature, culture, and contemplation meet.
ATTRACTIONS AND EXPERIENCES
- Mount Fuji (3,776 m) – Japan’s tallest and most revered mountain, a symbol of perseverance and harmony. Climbing it and witnessing the sunrise from the summit is a must-do experience in the Land of the Rising Sun.
- Lake Kawaguchiko – The most picturesque of Fuji’s five lakes. Its shores are dotted with traditional inns, hot springs, and spectacular views of the mountain.
- Kamikochi – A national park of pristine beauty in the Japanese Alps. Mountain rivers, wooden bridges, and snow-capped peaks create one of the country’s most stunning landscapes.

ITINERARY
Here is a day-by-day description of the tour:
Day 1 – Arrival in Tokyo
Meet your guide at the hotel late in the afternoon. In the evening, we take a short first walk through the Asakusa district to get a feel for the rhythm of the city: red lanterns, traditional sweet stalls, and the typical evening buzz of Tokyo.
Day 2 – Tokyo
The morning begins peacefully around Senso-ji Temple, where the scent of incense fills the courtyard crowded with visitors. We then move on to Meiji Jingu Shrine, a quiet sanctuary hidden in the forest, followed by a stroll through the Imperial Gardens. In the evening, Ginza reveals Tokyo’s elegant side – lights, shops, and restaurants coming alive under the violet sunset sky.
Day 3 – Tokyo → Kawaguchiko
Today we head toward the Fuji Five Lakes region, passing increasingly green landscapes. Once in Kawaguchiko, the atmosphere changes completely: fresh air, tranquility, and the perfect reflection of Mount Fuji in the lake. In the evening, a traditional onsen bath prepares us for the adventure ahead.
Day 4 – Climbing Mount Fuji
We begin our ascent from an altitude of 2,300 m. As we progress, the vegetation disappears, and the volcano reveals its rugged terrain. The wind carries the echo of our footsteps, and in the evening, above the clouds, the mountain hut becomes our quiet refuge. From here, the sky and stars feel remarkably close.
Day 5 – Sunrise at Mount Fuji
Watching the sunrise on Fuji will be an unforgettable experience. Around 4 a.m., the horizon slowly lights up in shades of orange, with the sun casting golden light across the landscape. After this sacred moment, we descend the mountain slowly, quietly savoring this unique experience. Back in Kawaguchiko, a hot bath and traditional dinner will perfectly complete the day.
Day 6 – Kawaguchiko → Takayama
The morning is for relaxation. One last coffee with a view of Fuji, a short tour of the lake, and a few photos before departure. After lunch, the train takes us through the mountains to Takayama. The town welcomes us with cobbled streets and traditional wooden houses, preserving the charm of the Edo period.
Day 7 – Kamikochi
Today we embark on a hike through Kamikochi, one of Japan’s most beautiful alpine valleys. Turquoise rivers, wooden bridges, and the peaceful mountain surroundings create a rare sense of calm. The clean air and views feel like a living “haiku,” the famous Japanese lyrical poetry.
Day 8 – Takayama
We explore the old town’s charm, where local markets buzz with colors and scents, and merchants’ houses and small workshops reveal the beauty of simple, authentic Japanese life. We visit sake distilleries to discover the secrets of this craft. In the evening, a kaiseki dinner – a feast of colors, flavors, and harmony – where every detail tells a story.
Day 9 – Adventure: Rafting or Canyoning
A full day dedicated to adrenaline and the joy of being in nature. In the mountains of Nagano or Gunma, cold waters tumble through spectacular canyons and waterfalls. We will experience energetic, laughter-filled moments and the power of nature all around.
Day 10 – Kyoto
The high-speed train takes us quietly to Kyoto. The city breathes differently – calm, elegant, and contemplative. Here we visit Fushimi Inari, with its thousands of red torii gates forming a visual spell, then wander through the streets of Gion, where time seems to have stopped in the era of the geisha.
Day 11 – Kyoto / Nara (optional)
The morning begins with the shimmering reflections at Kinkaku-ji – the Golden Pavilion. We then walk through Arashiyama, where bamboo forests rustle gently, and the cool, fragrant air envelops our senses. Optionally, we can take a short excursion to Nara, where curious deer roam freely among temples, creating a calm and magical atmosphere. This is a day of balance and gratitude, where every moment invites us to breathe deeply and experience Japan’s beauty in detail.
Day 12 – Kyoto → Tokyo
We return to Tokyo by high-speed train, enjoying the scenic journey through villages, fields, and cities. Once back in the city, you are free to explore at your own pace – visit sights, shop for souvenirs, or take in the vibrant neighborhoods. You may depart from Tokyo at your convenience or choose to stay an extra night individually.

- Currency and Payments:
In Japan, payments can be made in cash (Japanese yen), by credit/debit card, or via apps such as Revolut or Suica. In rural areas, including villages at the base of Mount Fuji and in the Japanese Alps, it is recommended to carry cash, as many places do not accept card payments. ATMs are widely available at 7-Eleven stores and Japan Post Bank locations. - Internet:
For internet access, it is recommended to use an international eSIM, purchase a local SIM at the airport, or rent a portable Wi-Fi router. Coverage is generally good, even in mountainous regions, although speeds may occasionally decrease during hikes on Mount Fuji. - Electricity:
Japan uses type A and B sockets, with a voltage of 110 V and frequency of 50–60 Hz. A universal adapter is necessary to use your devices. - Language:
English is spoken at a limited level, especially in traditional areas or ryokan (traditional accommodations). A translation app and knowledge of basic Japanese phrases are highly recommended. - Transport:
Transfers between destinations are made via high-speed and regional trains. Japanese transport is extremely punctual, and accommodations are chosen near train stations for convenience. Baggage forwarding services are also available between hotels for easier travel on transfer days.
