Patagonia is a land of extremes, where active ice fields and jagged granite towers define the skyline. This March 2027 expedition is crafted for those seeking to venture beyond the standard tourist trails of the Andes. From the crown of Torres del Paine to the legendary spires of El Chaltén, this circuit is the ultimate test for mountain lovers and a deep dive into one of the world's last true wildernesses.

Balance is at the core of this adventure. We pair the physical thrill of the trail with the cultural pulse of Buenos Aires, the bohemian soul of Valparaíso, and authentic Patagonian gastronomy. It is a complete immersion into life at "the end of the world."

TRAVEL ITINERARY

Here is a day-by-day description of the tour.

Day 1 – Buenos Aires
Meet the tour leader at the hotel in the morning. After our group assembly, we set out to explore the "Paris of the South." Our day balances history at Plaza de Mayo with the vivid colors of La Boca’s Caminito. After visiting the aristocratic Recoleta Cemetery, we end the evening in San Telmo with an authentic tango show—a perfect fusion of passion, local wine, and Argentine steak.

Day 2 – Gateway to the Wilderness
A flight takes us south to El Calafate, the gateway to the ice. From there, we drive across the vast steppe toward the mountain village of El Chaltén. As the horizon sharpens, the dramatic silhouettes of the Andes signal our arrival in the wild.

Day 3 – The Legend of Fitz Roy
A bucket-list trek to Laguna de los Tres. We hike through ancient forests to reach the base of Mount Fitz Roy, where the vertical granite walls reflect in turquoise waters. This is one of the most photographed spots on Earth for a reason.

Day 4 – The Spires of Cerro Torre
Today we follow the valley to Laguna Torre. At the foot of the "granite needle" of Cerro Torre, icebergs often float silently across the water. We wrap up the day with a local craft beer in the village, sharing stories with the global community of explorers.

Day 5 – Across the Patagonian Steppe
Leaving the peaks behind, we traverse the immense plains back toward El Calafate. Keep your eyes peeled for wild guanacos and Andean condors soaring above the arid plateaus as we approach the shores of Lake Argentino.

Day 6 – The Thunder of Perito Moreno
A front-row seat to a glacial masterpiece. We’ll explore the boardwalks facing this 70-meter-high wall of ice, listening for the thunderous "calving" of ice into the lake. For the adventurous, a minitrekking experience on the glacier's electric-blue surface is available.

Day 7 – Leisure in El Calafate
A day to recharge. Explore the town’s boutiques, try the legendary calafate ice cream, or stroll along the lake to spot flamingos contrasting against the glacial backdrop.

Day 8 – Into the Chilean Fjords
We cross the border and fly toward Puerto Natales. The landscape shifts into a mesmerizing maze of fjords and deep-water channels, preparing us for Chile’s most famous national park.

Day 9 – Entering the Sanctuary
We enter Torres del Paine National Park, a paradise of emerald lakes and cascading waterfalls. Every turn offers a new perspective of the "Cuernos del Paine," the distinctive bi-colored peaks that define the region.

Day 10 – The Ascent to the Towers
The most anticipated hike of the journey: the climb to Base Las Torres. The reward is a breathtaking view of the three granite giants rising vertically above a hidden glacial lagoon—the spiritual heart of the Southern Hemisphere.

Day 11 – Navigation or Ice Exploration
A day for choice and relaxation. Opt for a boat cruise to the massive face of Grey Glacier or get even closer with a kayaking adventure among the icebergs.

Day 12 – Farewell to the Wilds
One last look at the peaks as we head back to Puerto Natales. We carry the grandeur of the mountains with us as we transition back to the rhythm of the Chilean coast.

Day 13 – Santiago’s Urban Energy
A flight north brings us to Chile’s capital. From the silence of the south to the buzz of a modern metropolis, we spend the evening in the bohemian Lastarria neighborhood, toasted with a Pisco Sour.

Day 14 – The Spirit of Valparaíso
We head to the coast to discover Valparaíso, a UNESCO-listed port city. Its steep hills, colorful houses, and open-air street art galleries offer a final burst of inspiration. Alternatively, enjoy a final day of urban discovery and shopping in Santiago.

Day 15 – Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, you can spend the morning picking up souvenirs or enjoying one last meal. You are free to leave Santiago whenever you wish—or choose to extend your stay individually beyond the tour.

  • Payments and Currency: In Argentina and Chile, payments can be made using both cash (local pesos) and standard bank cards. Digital platforms like Revolut generally work without issues in most urban and tourist hubs. However, in remote mountain areas of Patagonia (such as El Chaltén), banking connections can sometimes be unstable. For this reason, it is recommended to carry a cash reserve (pesos or dollars) for small purchases or unforeseen situations.
  • Internet Access: Internet connectivity is stable in major cities like Buenos Aires, Santiago, or Puerto Natales, where Wi-Fi is available in most cafes and accommodations. Inside national parks (Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine), the signal is very limited or non-existent on trekking trails. For connectivity during transit, using an eSIM or a local SIM card is an effective solution.
  • Electricity: The electrical system in both countries is 220 V / 50 Hz. A universal adapter is required to ensure compatibility for all chargers and gadgets throughout the entire circuit.
  • Communication: The official language in both countries is Spanish. In tourist areas, hotels, and on main trekking routes, English is frequently used by service staff. Knowing some basic Spanish phrases can facilitate local interactions in areas less frequented by tourists.
  • Difficulty Level and Physical Preparation: This is an active journey with a medium difficulty level, accessible to anyone with a good physical condition who is used to outdoor activities. Mountaineering experience is not required, but a minimum level of prior physical preparation (regular mountain hikes) will significantly enhance the enjoyment of exploring these exceptional landscapes.
  • Trekking Routes: The program includes three main hikes in El Chaltén and Torres del Paine. While the trails are well-maintained, they involve distances of 15-20 km per day, with moderate elevation gains and sections of uneven terrain.
  • Weather Factor: Patagonia is famous for its powerful winds and sudden temperature changes ("four seasons in one day"). Physical effort is directly influenced by these conditions, requiring proper technical gear to maintain thermal comfort.
  • General Dynamics: Beyond the trekking, the trip involves intense logistics, including domestic flights and long transfers across the steppe. However, the pace is designed so that demanding days alternate with moments of relaxation.
Required Trekking Gear - Wearing clothes in layers is recommended to allow for thermal comfort adjustment:
  • Base layer – Synthetic materials or merino wool that wick away moisture.
  • Thermal layer – Fleece jackets or lightweight down.
  • Outer layer – Technical jacket (hardshell) resistant to wind and moisture.
  • Footwear – Waterproof trekking boots with high-grip soles, suitable for rugged terrain.
  • Protection – High-factor sunscreen and sunglasses are essential due to the strong UV radiation in the region.
