Răzvan Iuhasz
Even if the destination is famous, think of how different it is to visit it with me. How I can reveal it to you in a whole new way. I’d love for people to know me as the one who turned every group into a bunch of old friends, even if they were meeting for the first time. The one who managed to bring stories and places to life, so that people’s eyes stayed filled with wonder. And the one thanks to whom, at the end, they felt they’d have stayed at least one more day, just to feel that magic one more time. I love seeing people step off the bus or plane with a smile on their face. To know it was awesome. You might not even know exactly why, but you felt good. And years from now… still telling stories about the trips you took with me.
Have you ever had one of those “I can’t believe I’m actually here” moments?
I’ve had many like that, and it’s hard to choose without being unfair to the others. But stepping out of the canyon at Petra and seeing the Treasury revealed before me will always stay unforgettable. The same goes for witnessing the great migration in the Maasai Mara, touching the endless stretches of Antarctica, or seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye in Iran. When I first set foot in Tierra del Fuego, I just went wow! Back when I used to read about that place as a teenager, I didn’t even dare to dream I’d make it there one day. Diving among the colorful fish in the Red Sea felt like shooting a documentary for National Geographic. Each of them was an “I can’t believe I’m here” in its purest form.
Tell us about the funniest (or most unexpected) thing that happened on your travels!
It’s hard to pick just one funny story. We’ve had evenings where we’d sit together and laugh until our cheeks hurt. We even have two “famous” photo albums: “We all have that one friend who ruins the picture”, full of completely un-Instagrammable faces, and “Sleep tight, little one, Terra makes you a traveler”, featuring our most unorthodox naps on buses, boats, or in airports. I also remember the mountain cabin games, where photos were strictly forbidden but laughter was guaranteed. And then there were our unconventional rides… let’s just say transport of the most unusual kind, but I couldn’t possibly describe it fully: Cuba, Peru, Zanzibar, Iran, Vietnam, Cambodia, Bali, India, each one a comedy scene in itself.
What don’t people (yet) know about you, but should?
What other people don’t yet know about me is that I have a soft spot for refined luxury, the kind that quietly wins your heart. Few know what I feel when I wander the streets of Monaco or Cap Ferrat, when I sense the calm elegance of a five-star hotel, or when I stop in artisanal shops or art galleries in Carmel-by-the-Sea, or when I first stepped into the Yves Saint Laurent Museum. I love sleeping in a castle in Scotland, having lunch in a hidden corner of Sardinia, or dinner on the 45th floor in Shanghai, with the city sparkling beneath me. It’s not about opulence, but about moments that stay in my heart, where beauty and comfort meet in perfect harmony. And I’ve been lucky enough to experience all of them.
