ITINERARY
Here is a day-by-day description of the places included in the tour.
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
Arrival in Reykjavik and transfer to accommodation. You’ll have free time to rest and acclimate after the flight.
Day 2: Golden Circle
A day exploring the famous Golden Circle route. We’ll start with Thingvellir National Park, where we can see the meeting point of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. Next, we’ll head to Geysir to admire the Strokkur geyser, which erupts every few minutes. Our next stop will be the impressive Gullfoss waterfall. Finally, we’ll visit the Kerið crater and, if time permits, Bruarfoss, a lesser-known waterfall.
Day 3: South Coast – Vik
This day is dedicated to exploring the stunning south coast. The first stop will be Seljalandsfoss waterfall, followed by the majestic Skógafoss. Afterwards, we’ll stroll along the black sand Reynisfjara beach, admire the basalt formations and Dyrhólaey cliffs, and stop in the village of Vik to explore its attractions.
Day 4: Vik – Hofn
We’ll continue our journey east, stopping at Svartifoss and Hundafoss waterfalls, hidden within Skaftafell National Park. After that, we’ll spend time at Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where we can admire the floating icebergs, and then relax on the black sand Diamond Beach. In the evening, we’ll arrive in Hofn for our overnight stay.
Day 5: East Fjords
This day will take us along the picturesque East Fjords. We’ll explore Vestrahorn with its dramatic views and make a stop in Djúpivogur, a small fishing village. The drive will offer impressive landscapes until we reach Egilsstaðir, one of the largest towns in eastern Iceland.
Day 6: Myvatn and Húsavík
A day exploring the volcanic area around Lake Myvatn. We’ll visit Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe, and the Hverir geothermal area with its hot springs. We’ll relax uniquely at Myvatn Baths, famous for its thermal waters.
Day 7: Húsavík – Akureyri
The day begins with a visit to Húsavík, renowned for whale-watching tours, with an optional visit to the Whale Museum. We’ll then relax in the warm and salty waters of Geosea. The day will end with a visit to Laufás Turf House before we check in to our accommodation in Akureyri.
Day 8: Akureyri – Borgarfjörður
We start the day with a stop at Goðafoss waterfall, one of the most beautiful in Iceland, and explore the city of Akureyri. If time permits, we’ll continue our journey to Siglufjörður, a charming small fishing village.
Day 9: Borgarfjörður – Reykjavik
This day is dedicated to exploring the Borgarfjörður region. We’ll visit Hraunfossar waterfall, where water flows through lava fields, and Barnafoss, known for its legend. We’ll also stop at Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe, and discover the history of Reykholt before returning to Reykjavik.
Day 10: Reykjavik
We’ll spend the day exploring Reykjavik. We can visit major attractions like Hallgrímskirkja Church, the National Museum of Iceland, or the Sun Voyager. In the afternoon, optionally, we can head to Grindavik to see the volcano or relax at the Blue Lagoon, the famous thermal lagoon.
Day 11: Departure
Your trip has come to an end, and you are free to depart from Reykjavik at any time.
