ITINERARY
Here is a day-by-day description of the places included in the tour.
Day 1: Arrival in Havana
We will land in Havana and transfer to our accommodation. After settling in, we'll have free time to explore the surroundings, perhaps even enjoy a first stroll through the lively streets of the city.
Day 2: Guided Tour of Havana (Old Havana and New Havana)
We’ll begin the day by diving into Old Havana, where we’ll discover the city’s authentic essence. We’ll visit Plaza de Armas, a historic square filled with greenery and colonial charm, Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, and Plaza Vieja, a delightful spot with beautifully restored old buildings. We’ll stop at Hotel Ambos Mundos, where Hemingway used to stay, and no visit would be complete without a stop at Floridita Bar, famous for its daiquiris, the celebrated writer’s favorite cocktail.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore New Havana, discovering another side of the capital. We’ll see the Capitolio, one of the city's most impressive buildings, Central Park, the National Theater, and conclude our tour at the famous Plaza de la Revolución, home to portraits of revolutionary heroes.
At the end of the day, we’ll hop into the iconic vintage American convertibles for a two-hour ride. We'll feel the city's old-time atmosphere, with the wind in our hair and local music accompanying us.
Day 3: Free Time in Havana
We have a free day to explore Havana at our own pace. We could visit the Museo de la Farmacia Habanera La Reunión, an impressive site that will take us through the history of pharmacies in Havana, with fascinating exhibits like old surgical and dental tools and vintage-labeled bottles. Alternatively, we could take a walk along the Malecon, the famous seafront promenade. The Malecon is the perfect place for a relaxing stroll, especially at sunset, when the light plays with the waves, creating a magical atmosphere.
Day 4: Catamaran Excursion (optional)
For those seeking adventure, we can opt for a sea excursion on a catamaran, with a special stop to interact with dolphins. It’s a unique opportunity to admire the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea and the local marine life.
Day 5: Free Time for Beach or Other Visits
The next two days are free for us to explore Havana, shop, or relax on the beach. Santa Maria del Mar Beach is a stunning beach located just 25 km from Havana, ideal for water activities like diving, jet skiing, or sailing.
Day 6: Free Time for Other Havana Attractions or Beach
We can attend the traditional cannon-firing ceremony at Morro Cabaña. Every evening at 9:00 PM, this ceremony takes place at the Morro Cabaña fortress, with a variety of attractive events held beforehand. We can enjoy the entire spectacle from the Malecon!
Day 7: Excursion to Vinales Valley National Park
We’ll venture into Vinales Valley in a 4x4 jeep, one of Cuba's most picturesque regions. The park is home to the largest cave system in Cuba, including the Cueva del Indio, which we’ll explore by boat. We’ll visit tobacco plantations and the iconic drying houses, learning about the famous process of producing the world’s best tobacco. We’ll finish with a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 8 & Day 9: Excursion to Trinidad (optional)
Over the next two days, we’ll explore the city of Trinidad, a colonial gem renowned for its colorful architecture and cobblestone streets. Besides its historical charm, we’ll also discover nearby beaches or take a trip to the Topes de Collantes Natural Park.
Day 10: Free Time in Havana
We have a free day for last-minute shopping and souvenirs. If you’re passionate about history and tradition, we recommend a visit to the Museo del Ron, where we’ll learn about Cuba’s famous rum and, of course, enjoy a tasting.
Day 11: Departure from Havana
We’ll bid farewell to Havana, returning home with unforgettable stories about Cuba and its unique charm.
